If your kids have their own bathroom, chances are it gets messy and cluttered on a regular basis. But trying to keep your kids’ bathroom clean and organized doesn’t have to be a difficult job.

The key to ensuring your kids’ bathroom stays organized is to set them up for success. By organizing the space in a way that makes it easy for your kids to keep the room neat and tidy, you’re making your life a little easier, too!

Here are eight simple ways to keep your kids’ bathroom organized.

    Organizing Kid's Bathrooom

    Open Storage

One of the simplest ways to keep your kids’ bathroom organized is to make sure your kids know exactly where everything goes inside the room.

To make it easy for your kids to use the items they need in the room and put them back where they belong when they’re finished, consider open storage options for the space.

Using open shelving or hanging baskets to store things like towels, bath toys, and everyday items like toothbrushes will allow your kids to easily see where everything is stored. That will make it simple for them to put their things back when they’re finished using them.

    Labels

Another great way to make sure your kids know where everything belongs in their bathroom is to add labels to all the storage containers.

This is especially helpful if you would prefer to hide things away inside the room instead of using the open storage concept. Place smaller items, like wash cloths and hair ties, in labeled boxes and bins when you store them away.

Not only will this method help your children find what they need in their bathroom, it will also help them keep their bathroom organized because they’ll know exactly where their bathroom necessities belong when they’re finished using them.

    Countertop Storage

There are a few items your kids use in the bathroom every day, like their toothbrush. Keeping those everyday items close at hand is the best way to ensure the room stays organized each day.

To make sure the countertop stays organized in your kids’ bathroom, provide countertop storage options for those things your kids use each morning as they get ready.

In addition to adding storage to the countertop, it’s also a good idea to give your kids a way to quickly clean-up morning messes.

Keeping a jar of disinfecting wipes or a roll of paper towels close at hand will remind them to wipe up toothpaste spatters or water spills as soon as they happen.

    Hooks

Adding hooks to your kid’s bathroom is essential in keeping it organized.

Hooks are great at helping keep wet towels from landing on the floor after bath time. Simply hang a hook on the wall for each child who uses the bathroom, instantly giving them a place to hang their towels when they’re finished drying off.

Just make sure to hang the hook at your kid’s eye level (not yours) to be sure they can reach it after their bath. Another great place to put hooks in your kids’ bathroom is the bathtub.

Hooks are perfect for hanging wash clothes, in addition to adding a mesh storage bag for your kids’ bath toys. Just toss the toys inside the mesh bag when they’re finished playing with them and hang the bag from a hook to keep the toys organized and out of the way when they’re not in use.

    Containers

Most bathrooms are filled with tiny must-haves – cotton swabs, bobby pins, cotton balls, hair clips, etc. And all those little pieces can easily add up to a big mess in a kids’ bathroom.

Keep the tiny bathroom clutter under control with the use of small, clear containers.

Place each item in its own container to easily organize everything your kids will need each day in the bathroom. And using clear containers will make it simple for your kids to see what’s inside, making it easy for them to grab what they need without making a mess.

    Step Stools

Most bathroom fixtures aren’t designed for little people, so adding step stools to the room will help keep messes under control.

Place a stool in front of the bathroom sink to avoid excess water drips when your kids wash their hands or brush their teeth.

Another great place to put a step stool is in front of the toilet. It will make it easier for little boys to aim at their target, and help girls get to the seat more easily.

Either way, it will help prevent messy accidents during bathroom time.

    Hamper

One of the fastest ways your kids will clutter their bathroom is by throwing their dirty clothes on the floor. Make sure they have a place to put their clothes when they’re getting in the bath by placing a hamper inside the kids’ bathroom.

The best option for a kids’ bathroom hamper is one that has an attached lid that is easy to open and close. The lid will help hide the dirty clothing, making it a perfect way to round up the clutter in the room.
